Actress turned Corporate America moonlighter turned Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate
The Short Story
Finding myself in my 10th year in my beloved city of New York, gainfully employed in a sea of the unemployed, and living in an atypical (aka spacious) apartment I realized with surprise… ”hmmmm, something is not quite right”. Thus began a big ol’ think and a chat with God, family and friends. I began eyeballing the rest of my life; what I could give to my life and what I want to do with it.
The result – a leap of faith from Corporate America to an 8 month commitment with The SOLD Project in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The SOLD Project is a grassroots organization dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation of children by educating at risk youth.
I quit my job, gave up my apartment and left a city I lived in for 10 years to move 8,000 miles away to be an English as a second language teacher and establish SOLDs volunteer program. It is one of the best decisions of my life.
I now live in Oklahoma City, OK (yes, you read that right) freelancing with two anti trafficking organizations: OATH Coalition and Freedom Youth Center and as the Director of Marketing and Branding with the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women.
This blog is about this journey; from New York City to Thailand and life after and all it brings.
This leap is about living.

You can’t learn from guessing
You can learn only from moving forward
At the rate you are moved,
As brightness into brightness.”
